Hello, I am Courtney.

I was gifted my first camera in 2013 by my husband. I was frustrated with the quality of photos that my point-and-shoot camera was giving me and wanted something better to capture my family's memories. My sister-in-law, Vanessa Lee (of Vanessa Lee Photography), helped me to learn a bit about my camera. I played around with it for months and took a few courses to get to know my settings better. I decided in 2014 to start photographing other people to build my portfolio. I took a big leap at the end of 2014 in creating my business, Courtney Vail Photography... and here we are! 7 years of photographing families, engagements & couples, maternity, weddings, events, birthdays, and back to school photos!

When I am not taking photographs, I am a full-time teacher, mother, and wife. I have a passion for the ocean, travelling, reading a good book, and love a great chip dip.
